71/72
Kingsway, Swansea
T
he development of
a state-of-the-art
workplace at the site of
the former Oceana nightclub
in Swansea has transformed
expectations of what the city
can offer.
Launched in July 2025,
71/72 Kingsway is one
of 10 schemes under the
Swansea Bay City Deal, a
partnership between the
Welsh Government and
Swansea Council. The aim is
to bring new prosperity by
attracting and retaining tech,
digital and creative companies
and stimulating footfall in the
city centre.
At 71/72 Kingsway, this
strategic public intervention,

combined with design
innovation and integrated
sustainability, are delivering
on that ambition. The
building is now the flagship
headquarters of tech firm
Veeqo, which was founded
in Swansea in 2013 by Matt
Warren and acquired by
Amazon in 2021. Veeqo,
which provides shipping
and inventory management
software, has since trebled its
workforce to more than 200,
with half now based at the
new Kingsway site in a clear
commitment to Welsh talent
and ambition.
Veeqo joined Futures First,
a global financial derivatives
trading and market analysis
firm, travel specialist Tui and
flexible office provider IWG
at the 120,000 sq ft, seven
storey scheme. More recently,
the ground floor space has
attracted Optical Express and
partner brand sk:n, bolstering
the community at 71/72
Kingsway and helping to
attract footfall.
These commercial
successes, won in a tough
lettings market, are testament
to the project’s success in
helping to address Swansea’s
longstanding shortage of
high-quality space.
