A
series of co-design
workshops let PwC
staff shape their new
office, from layout and zoning
to material choices.
PwC relocated around 500
staff into the top two floors of
Aurora at 120 Bothwell Street,
just across the road from
the office which had been its
Glasgow base for 15 years.
It is also the latest chapter
in its long relationship with
BDP, which has worked with
PwC across more than 28
locations throughout the UK
and Europe. That input shows
throughout the finished space.
The lower floor is built for
focused, desk-based work
in more traditional layouts
whereas the upper floor
opens into collaboration
zones, a client suite and event
space, connected by a central
staircase. Finishes reference
the River Clyde’s shipbuilding
and engineering history, with
biophilic elements woven
throughout.
The result, the judges
said, set a new standard for
professional environments
in Glasgow. PwC’s arrival as
marquee tenant helped drive
momentum in Aurora’s wider
letting programme, at a time
when just four other lettings
had been signed. It was
followed by Pinsent Masons
and Grant Thornton.

out for balancing “the needs
of a corporate environment
with a strong hospitality
feel, whilst reflecting
both the local culture and
character of Glasgow”. They
praised the inclusion of an
interconnecting stair between
floors as a particularly
successful intervention,
enhancing physical
connectivity and promoting
knowledge exchange across
teams.
The judges concluded:
“Overall, this is a confident
and engaging workplace that
fully realises the potential of
the building.”
