hristopher Ward’s three
customer showrooms
feature “pickable
walls”, letting visitors handle
the high-quality watches it
makes without the barriers
typical of luxury retail.
Known for its “English
design, Swiss-made”
approach, Christopher Ward
opened its headquarters in
Maidenhead in November
2024, moving on from the
small Park Street office it had
occupied for 12 years.
The new site, more
than double the size at
10,079 sq ft across two
floors, was designed by
Spratley & Partners and
delivered by Curve Interiors.
Administration, design
studios, logistics, repair
facilities and the three
showrooms are all in one
place now.
Process-driven layouts
optimise product flow
and logistics, increasing
distribution capacity by 50%,
while technology enables
seamless communication
between Maidenhead,
Switzerland and remote
teams. This holistic approach,
driven by process efficiency,
optimises the flow of
bco.org.uk
components and is designed
to accommodate future
growth and flexible working.
The showrooms feature
customer appointment
spaces with warm wood
panelling, while the second
floor includes a creative hub
offering staff desk spaces, a
podcast studio and meeting
areas.
Sustainability was built
in from the start too, with
92% of construction waste
either recycled or reused.
The project’s exceptional
environmental care has
achieved SKA Gold.
The move came at a pivotal
moment for the business.
Christopher Ward’s revenue
doubled between 2023 and
2024, and the brand went on
to win the Petite Aiguille prize
at the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie
de Genève, the first such win
for a British brand. The old
office wasn’t built for the
demand Christopher Ward
was seeing and it has been
able to increase shipping from
500 to 800 watches a day
since the move.
The judges said the fit out
excels in meeting Christopher
Ward’s needs by consolidating
operations, bringing brand

They were clear on why
it won, saying “the 10,079

example of integrating diverse
functions to suit business
needs”. They concluded: “The
project successfully delivers
